Okay, I’m the worst when it comes to these things. Carolyn very kindly nominated me for the Versatile Blogger award two years ago (yep, two years ago). I think it’s fair to say I’m stretching the definition of ‘versatility’ to the limit by applying it to the presupposed time limit that usually applies to these things.
But I really appreciate the nomination, so I want to pass it on. Here are Carolyn’s rules for me:
- Nominate 5 book blogs that have diverse taste in reading. (nominate one blog that likes YA, one that likes adult books, etc.)
- Add the Versatile Blogger Award picture to your post.
- Share 7 random facts about yourself. One has to be your favorite book of all time.
- Link back to this post and my blog.
- Let the blogger know you’ve nominated him/her.
So, to kick things off, here are seven random facts about me:
- My favourite book of all time changes approximately every 2.6 seconds, but generally the ones that seem to crop up the most are Northanger Abbey, Pride and Prejudice, Good Omens, and Wyrd Sisters.
- I once thought I saw J.K. Rowling near my apartment building in Edinburgh. I’m still only 99.9% sure it wasn’t her but another pale blonde lady.
- As some of you may know, I’m currently living and working in Croatia. Most people seem to find this sufficiently random, so I’m going to count it.
- I have only committed one crime in my life, and it happened when I was six. I stole a tiny pom-pom from a craft store and spent years feeling guilty about it. I have never yet been brought to justice for my actions, although in a fit of guilt I did secretly return the pom-pom to the store.
- It is physically impossible for me to read only one book at any one time.
- I firmly believe that in another life I was a sloth, because I am almost dangerously lazy. Also, I have abnormally long arms.
- In high school drama class, thanks to my height, I exclusively played male characters and extremely evil, ugly female characters. This did not improve my self-esteem, but on the plus side, I do know how to draw on the perfect moustache using eyeliner.
So, here are my rules:
- Nominate 5 book blogs that have inspired your reading choices in some way.
- Let the blogger know you’ve nominated him/her.
- Add the Versatile Blogger Award picture to your post.
- Share 7 random facts about yourself.
- Link back to this post.
I nominate:
- Judith @ Chain Interaction
- Tara @ One More Stamp
- Sarah @ Literary Wombat
- Courtney @ Incessant Bookworm
- Hanna @ Book Geeks Anonymous
Obviously, there’s no pressure here, guys.

Wow, these are some incredibly random facts! ;) If I ever need a moustache, now I know whom to call!
Haha yep. :D
Ha – my choice of favourites changes often too.
It’s so difficult to pin it down – and I always find myself recalling books later and saying ‘I can’t believe I forgot X author!’
You forgot to add that nominees have at least two years to respond …
:)
Or maybe three years?
I took some candy from a store when I was three years old and still feel guilty about it. ;-) Congratulations and thanks for introducing me to 4 new blogs! :-)
Haha yeah I think a lot of kids go through an experience like that, so at least we’re not alone!
